Why it matters
Things go wrong: a brand stops paying, a creator misses deadlines. A termination clause gives a fair way out and says what happens to the money and the content.
How it usually reads
Either party may end this Agreement if the other materially breaches it and does not fix the breach within 10 days after written notice.
What fair looks like
- Written notice and a chance to fix the problem, often 10 days.
- Payment for work done up to the termination.
- Licenses end if the brand does not pay.
Red flags
-
terminate immediately for any reason
One side can walk away without notice or payment.
